This is an art museum housing the works of Katsuji Wakisaka. On display are a variety of pieces spanning from 1968 to the present day. His career as a textile designer began in his twenties and has included periods at Marimekko, Jack Larsen and Wacoal, followed by a brief period working independently. Then, in 2002, he met me and the architect Hisanobu Tsujimura, leading to the current SOU・SOU period.
I think it would be fascinating for visitors to appreciate the differences in design created in various countries and companies during each of these periods, as well as the evolving ‘aesthetic sensibility’ that developed as he grew older.
