In the late Edo period, townspeople whose colors were restricted by luxury-prohibition edicts sought subtle differences in color within the permitted ranges of “brown,” “grey,” and “indigo,” and created many tea shades and grey—this is what is meant by the “sophisticated” culture.
It is expressed with a SOU・SOU Kyoto pattern.
