・Hand-printed using Kyoto Stencil Yuzen dyeing.
・Made with Isemomen cotton, a traditional craft of Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, and sewn in Kyoto.
・A simple bag made from an Isemomen cotton handkerchief. As it is very lightweight and can be folded into a compact size for easy carrying, it is convenient to use as an eco bag or when traveling. It is also recommended for pairing with Japanese clothing or for everyday use.
What is “Kyoto Ainasen”?
Japanese people have been familiar with wearing indigo-dyed items since the Edo period. In the early Meiji era, indigo was also referred to as “Japan Blue,” becoming one of the colors that symbolize Japan. While indigo dyeing is typically done by immersion, “Ainasen” is a world-first dyeing technique developed by Fujita Sennen, in which patterns are hand-printed using natural indigo. Please enjoy the deep character of true indigo and the natural aging of its color over time.
・The soft texture of raw white Isemomen Cotton “Bun” fabric is beautifully finished with indigo dye.
※Pattern placement will vary from piece to piece due to the manufacturing process. Customers cannot specify the print.
※This item uses Isemomen Cotton. Depending on the color, surface fluffs may be noticeable; this is a natural characteristic of the material.
※As raw, unbleached fabric is used, the textile features a natural, rustic tone. Black specks visible on the fabric surface are plant fragments that cannot be avoided during the production of raw cotton fabric.

※Due to the nature of the material, there may be neps (knots in the fabric) and uneven weave which may cause color loss.
【About Kohabaori Eco Bag】
The standard fabric width is 35cm to 42cm, but fabrics woven on old-fashioned machines may have an error of about 1cm.
This may cause slight fold misalignment, but these characteristics are appreciated as part of the charm of traditional weaving in SOU・SOU products.
